Workshop on “Reference Management tool: Mendeley Desktop”

The Library Department of the CMP Degree College in collaboration with Project/ Research Cell of the college has organized a workshop on “Reference Management Tool: Mendeley Desktop” on the occasion of 131st birth anniversary of Dr. S. R. Ranganathan, Father of Library Science in India, on 11th August 2023, Friday. The program was started with the traditional method of enlightening of lamp and garlanding on the statue of Goddess Saraswati. After warm welcome of the guest, garlanding on the pictures of Dr. S. R. Ranganathan and Chaudhary Mahadev Prasad was done. 

Dr. Neeraj Kumar Singh, member of Library Committee, welcomed the guest and focused on the importance of references and referencing. He said that reference is like an address on an envelope which tells where that envelop has to go.

Dr. Punit Kumar Singh, College Librarian highlighted about the life and achievements of Dr. S. R. Ranganathan. He told that Dr. Ranganathan was awarded with Padmashri for his works and achievement in the development of libraries, librarianship and library professionals.

Dr. Sunanda Das, Convener, Project and Research Cell highlighted that with the help of reference management tools, one can organize their research work by proper referencing alogn with collaboration with other online. She discussed about different citation styles like MLA, APA, Chicago etc.

During their presidential speech, Dr. Archana Srivastava, Convener, Library Committee, told the library is an important part of any education institute. Every institute should have a very rich library. The library department of the college is steadily progressive towards providing good services to its users.

Vote of thanks was delivered by Dr. Gyan Prakash, Co-Convener, Library Committee while anchoring of the inaugural session was done Afreen Fatima, Research Scholar of the department of Chemistry of the college. 

Dr. Saroj Singh, Dr. Manish Kumar Singh, Dr. Anjalika, Dr. Renu singh, Dr. Kiran Verma, Dr. Gaurav Patel, Dr. Deepa Srivastava, Sri Ajit Sinha, SMt. Babita Srivastava, Sri Shiv Kumar Mishra, including all the library staff and all participants were present during the entire workshop.

भारत में पुस्तकालय विज्ञान के जनक पद्मश्री डॉ एस. आर. रंगनाथन के 131वें जन्म जयंती के शुभ अवसर पर चौधरी महादेव प्रसाद महविद्यालय के “पुस्तकालय विभाग” एवं “प्रोजेक्ट एवं रिसर्च सेल” के संयुक्त तत्वाधान में “संदर्भ प्रबंधन उपकरण: मेंडली डेस्कटॉप” विषय पर कार्यशाला का आयोजन दिनांक 11/08/2023 (शुक्रवार) को किया गया। कार्यक्रम का उदघाटन समारोह पारंपरिक ढंग से दीप प्रज्जवलन एवं वाग्देवी की प्रतिमा पर माल्यार्पण तथा अतिथियों के स्वागत से हुआ। तत्पश्चात, अतिथियों द्वारा डॉ. रंगनाथन एवं चौधरी महादेव प्रसाद की तस्वीर पर माल्यार्पण एवं पुष्पगुच्छ अर्पित किया गया। अतिथियों का स्वागत करते हुए पुस्तकलय समिति के सदस्य डॉ. नीरज कुमार सिंह ने  कार्यशाला की उपयोगिता पर प्रकाश डाला। 

महाविद्यालय के पुस्तकालयाध्यक्ष डॉ पुनीत कुमार सिंह द्वारा डॉ. एस. आर. रंगनाथन के भारतीय पुस्तकालयों के उत्थान में किये गए कार्यों, विचारों एवं उपलब्धियों से अतिथियों को अवगत करते हुए बताया कि डॉ एस.आर. रंगनाथन ने पुस्तकालयों, पुस्तकालय विज्ञान संस्थानों, एवं पुस्तकालय कर्मियों के उत्थान हेतु अथक प्रयास किया.

डॉ रंगनाथन को पुस्तकालय विज्ञान के क्षेत्र में विशिष्ट  योगदान के लिए पद्मश्री की उपाधि दी गयी।

पुस्तकालय समिति की संयोजक डॉ. अर्चना श्रीवास्तव ने कार्यशाला का वर्चुअल मोड में उद्घाटन करते हुए अध्यक्षीय उद्बोधन में कार्यशाला के महत्व पर प्रकाश डाला तथा सभी शोधार्थियों को इससे लाभान्वित होने की अपील की। साथ ही कहा कि पुस्तकालय विभाग शोदार्थियों को गुणवत्तापूर्ण शोध कार्य हेतु आवश्यक संशाधनों एवं सेवाओं को प्रदान करने के लिए तत्पर है।

“प्रोजेक्ट एवं रिसर्च सेल” की संयोजक डॉ सुनंदा दास ने कार्यशाला की उपयोगिता पर प्रकाश डालते हुए कहा कि

गुणवत्तापूर्ण शोध लेखन में सन्दर्भ का सही ढंग से लिखा जाना अति आवश्यक है. सन्दर्भों के व्यस्थापन में संदर्भ प्रबंधन उपकरण मेंडली डेस्कटॉप बहुत उपयोगी है।

धन्यवाद ज्ञापन डॉ ज्ञान प्रकाश, सह-संयोजक, पुस्तकालय समिति ने किया तथा मंच संचालन आफरीन फातिमा शोध छात्रा, रसायन शास्त्र विभाग ने किया। 

उद्घाटन कार्यक्रम में मुख्य रूप से डॉ सरोज सिंह, डॉ. मनीष कुमार सिंह, डॉ. अन्जलिका, डॉ रेनू सिंह, डॉ. किरण वर्मा, डॉ. गौरव पटेल, डॉ दीपा श्रीवास्तव, श्री अजीत सिन्हा, श्रीमती बबिता श्रीवास्तव, श्री शिव कुमार मिश्र, तथा पुस्तकालय विभाग के सभी कर्मचारी एवं सभी प्रतिभागी उपस्थित थे ।

 Lecture Series on "Know Your E-Resource"

C.M.P Degree College under the aegis of ‘Project and Research Cell’ in joint collaboration with ‘Library Department’ started a lecture series on the theme of ‘Know Your E-Resources’ from 07/08/2023. The program was started with the lighting of the lamp in front of the idol of Maa Saraswati. Project and Research Cell Coordinator Dr. Sunanda Das welcomed all the guests. On this occasion, Principal of the college, Prof. Ajay Prakash Khare said in his address that through e-resources, researchers can do their research work in a rational manner; just they should know how to verify reliable and valid facts. Chief Guest Prof. Ramendra Kumar Singh, Department of Chemistry, University of Allahabad expressed his views on “e-Resources in Science” and discussed its importance, possibilities and challenges in detail. Prof. Singh said that the biggest challenge before the researchers in e-resources is to identify the true facts because there is a flood of information on the internet but only true facts can give a new direction to the research. College librarian and keynote speaker Dr. Punit Kumar Singh threw light on the facilities of e-resources in the college library. Dr. Singh told how to search the resources on N-LIST, DELNET etc. The program was coordinated by Dr. Jyoti Verma and the vote of thanks was done by Dr. Harishchandra. Project and Research Cell's Dr. Yadvendra Singh, Dr. Rachna Srivastava, Dr. Dilip Kumar Singh, Dr. Rekha Srivastava, Dr. Vijay Pratap Singh, Dr. Ramesh Kumar Bharti, Dr. Deepa Srivastava, Dr. Priya Soni Khare and Dr. Jitendra Kumar including college Vice-Principal Dr. Neeta Sinha, College NAAC Coordinator Dr. Babita Agarwal, Bursar Dr. Bhupendra Bajaj, Botany Coordinator Dr. Amita Pandey, Dr. Manoj Jaiswal, Dr. Pallavi Rai and all the faculty members and researchers were present.

सी.एम.पी. महाविद्यालय में ‘प्रोजेक्ट एवं रिसर्च सेल’ एवं ‘लाइब्रेरी डिपार्टमेंट’ के संयुक्त तत्वाधान में विषय “नो योर ई- रिसोर्सेस” पर व्याख्यान माला की शुरुआत दिनांक 07/ 08/ 2023 को की गई । कार्यक्रम का शुभारंभ मां सरस्वती की प्रतिमा के समक्ष दीप प्रज्वलन के साथ किया गया। प्रोजेक्ट एवं रिसर्च सेल की समन्वयक डॉ सुनंदा दास ने सभी अतिथियों का स्वागत किया। इस अवसर पर महाविद्यालय के प्राचार्य प्रो० अजय प्रकाश खरे ने अपने उद्बोधन में कहा कि ई- रिसोर्सेस के माध्यम से शोधार्थी अपने शोध कार्य को तर्क संगत ढंग से कर सकते है बस उन्हें विश्वसनीय एवं वैध तथ्यों की परख करना आना चाहिए। मुख्य अतिथि प्रो० रामेंद्र कुमार सिंह, रसायन विज्ञान विभाग, इलाहाबाद विश्विद्यालय ने “विज्ञान में ई- रिसोर्सेस” पर अपने विचार व्यक्त किये तथा इसके महत्व, संभावनाएं तथा चुनौतियों पर विस्तारपूर्वक चर्चा की। प्रो० सिंह ने कहा कि ई- रिसोर्सेस में शोधार्थियों के समक्ष सबसे बड़ी चुनौती सत्य तथ्यों की पहचान करना है क्योंकि इंटरनेट पर सूचनाओं की बाढ़ है लेकिन सही तथ्य ही शोध को नई दिशा दे सकते हैं। महाविद्यालय के पुस्तकालयाध्यक्ष एवं मुख्य वक्ता डॉ पुनीत कुमार सिंह ने महाविद्यालय के पुस्तकालय में ई- रिसोर्सेस की सुविधाओं पर प्रकाश डाला। डॉ सिंह ने बताया कि एन-लिस्ट, डेलनेट इत्यादि पर रिसोर्सेस को कैसे सर्च किया जाता है। कार्यक्रम का संचालन डॉ ज्योति वर्मा एवं धन्यवाद ज्ञापन डॉ हरिश्चंद्र ने किया। कार्यक्रम में प्रोजेक्ट एंड रिसर्च सेल की डॉ प्रिया सोनी खरे, डॉ जितेन्द्र कुमार, डॉ यादवेन्द्र सिंह, डॉ रचना श्रीवास्तव, डॉ दिलीप कुमार सिंह, डॉ रेखा श्रीवास्तव, डॉ विजय प्रताप सिंह, डॉ रमेश कुमार भारती, डॉ दीपा श्रीवास्तव सहित महाविद्यालय की उप-प्राचार्या डॉ नीता सिन्हा, महाविद्यालय नैक समन्वयक डॉ बबीता अग्रवाल, बर्सर डॉ भूपेंद्र बजाज, वनस्पतिशास्त्र की समन्वयक डॉ अमिता पाण्डेय, डॉ मनोज जायसवाल, डॉ पल्लवी राय तथा समस्त शोधार्थी मौजूद रहे।
